The Puls Institute participated as a co-organizer in the conference “The Czech Republic at a Crossroads.”
The Czech Republic is at a crossroads and needs a new vision and direction for the next decade to thirty years. Business organizations and initiatives have therefore joined forces to form the largest movement to date, in order to draw attention to the long-neglected problems of the Czech economy, which have trapped the country in the middle-income trap.
According to the Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Industry and Transport, the Confederation of Employers’ and Entrepreneurs’ Associations, the Association of Construction Entrepreneurs, the Czech Banking Association, the CFO Club, the 2nd Economic Transformation, the Agrarian Chamber, the Trade and Tourism Association, the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Sole Proprietors, the Food Chamber, and the Puls Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, growth in value added was expected to drive investment in energy, transportation, data, and other technical infrastructure; affordable housing, particularly rental housing; the labor market; and initial and continuing vocational education and training; as well as in science, research, and innovation—with an emphasis on their application in industry and practice—strengthening traditional products and services and developing new ones with high added value based in the Czech Republic, particularly in areas such as the nuclear program, the production of semiconductors, batteries, and battery storage systems, quantum technologies, and artificial intelligence.
